This Privacy Policy explains what information Secret Jingle ("we", "us", or "our") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Secret Jingle mobile application and related services (the "Service").

1. Privacy at a glance

Secret Jingle is designed to keep the sensitive parts of the experience on your device. Song audio, avatar rendering, and any photo you use to create an avatar are processed entirely on your device and are not uploaded to or stored on our servers. We collect only the limited account and gameplay data needed to run the game, deliver jingles between players, and send notifications.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign in with a third-party identity provider (Apple, Google, or Discord), we receive a unique account identifier and, depending on the provider and your choices, a display name. We do not receive your third-party password.

Consent record

When you accept our Terms and this Policy, we record that you consented, along with the IP address and timestamp of the consent, to demonstrate that agreement was given.

Device push token

If you enable notifications, we store the push token issued by your device's operating system so we can deliver deadline reminders and game alerts. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Group and game data

We store data needed to operate a game: group membership, game rounds, prompts, jingle metadata (such as title, genre, and delivery order), turn and deadline status, scores, and guesses.

Data that stays on your device

Generated song audio and video, the avatar renderer, and any selfie or photo you provide to create an avatar are handled on your device only. This media does not leave your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

3. How we use information

• To create and maintain your account and authenticate you;
• To run games — matching players, delivering jingles anonymously, tracking deadlines, scores, and guesses;
• To send push notifications you have enabled (for example grace-period reminders);
• To maintain a record of your consent;
• To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems; and
• To comply with legal obligations.

4. Third parties we work with

We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the Service:

• Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, and network security for this website and our APIs.
• Apple, Google, and Discord — sign-in (OAuth) identity providers used to authenticate you.
• Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and equivalent platform push services — delivery of the notifications you enable.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Data retention

We keep account, consent, and game data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Game data associated with completed rounds may be retained for a limited period to support gameplay history, then removed or de-identified. We retain information longer only where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Your rights and account deletion

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You may delete your account at any time from within the app or by contacting us. Deleting your account purges your associated personal data from our systems, except for limited records we are required to keep by law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. [REVIEW: confirm age gating and regional children's-privacy obligations before launch.]

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

We and our service providers may process information in countries other than the one in which you live. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by other reasonable means. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
